Against the Tide is a family-friendly, multi-sport event to benefit the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC). MBCC is the only non-profit in the state dedicated to the prevention of breast cancer from environmental causes. The funds raised through Against the Tide help to support and expand our community education program Let’s Talk Prevention: Reducing Toxic ExposuresMBCC Webinar Series, and the newly-expanded environmental health program for students. We are grateful to all of you who help prioritize breast cancer prevention. Above and beyond your commitment to participate in the Against the Tide event, we hope that you will also fundraise on behalf of MBCC and our important mission to change the legacy of breast cancer for future generations.

Each virtual event features an 8-day participation window. You can choose to participate in any of the following event components:

  • Competitive 1-mile Swim 
  • 5K Run
  • 10K Run 
  • Aquathon 5K – Competitive 1-mile swim followed by 5K run
  • Aquathon 10K – Competitive 1-mile swim followed by 10K run
  • 3-mile Walk 
  • 1/2 Mile Stand-up Paddleboard
  • Recreational 1/2 mile or 1-mile Swim 
  • Recreational 2 -mile Kayak

Participant Fun Pack: All virtual participants will receive a free Participant Fun Pack, including an event t-shirt, swim cap or bib, participant medal, and sponsor items. 

Event Results Page: Swim, Run, and Aquathon participants will have the opportunity to submit their finish times to our event timing partner Second Wind Timing to be included on the Event Results page. Upon receipt of your registration, MBCC will provide instructions on how to submit finishing time.

Registration fees: Individual Registration $40.  Family Registration $100 (up to 5 family members)
