Environment and health groups across the country have launched a new campaign for consumer safety. Using a list of over 100 chemicals of concern, groups are targeting major retailers to reformulate consumer products. The full list of chemicals (including BPA, PVC and others) was sent to 10 companies yesterday along with a letter signed by several dozen organizations including the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition. This letter urges companies to stop using toxic ingredients and switch to safer alternatives. In the meantime, there are steps you can take within your home to reduce your exposure. Please also consider getting involved as an environmental health advocate, every voice counts. Visit our Get Involved page for a list of volunteer opportunities or send us an email at info@mbcc.org.
