2nd Annual MSG Memorial Webinar Thank You + Recording

Dear MBCC Friend,

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC),
and with gratitude on behalf of the Simon-Golden families, I would like to thank all of those
who attended the 2nd Annual Margo Simon Golden Memorial Webinar.

I would also like to thank our distinguished panelists Dr. Arlene Blum, Dr. Laurel Schaider, and
Dr. Maricel Maffini, as well as our moderator, MBCC Board President Dr. Malkas, and Margo’s
stepson, MBCC Board Member, Attorney Andrew Golden for presenting the Margo Simon
Golden Distinguished Service Award.

We congratulate Maria Vetrano and Helen Privett, our two 2023 awardees of the Margo Simon
Golden Distinguished Service Award. In 1993, Maria and Helen developed the Against the Tide
fundraising swim for MBCC. Against the Tide, which was Margo’s favorite event, remains one of
the most important fundraising and community advocacy opportunities for MBCC to continue
its work towards breast cancer prevention.

As long-time Board member and Board President of MBCC, Margo was the heart and soul of
our organization. Among the many ways Margo contributed to MBCC, she played an integral
role in the development of two of MBCC’s signature programs: the Let’s Talk Prevention:
Reducing Toxic Exposures
community education program and the Let’s Talk Prevention: Actions
You Can Take
environmental health education program for students.

To say she had an impact on the organization, on our staff, and on the communities we serve is
an understatement. The caliber of her passion, determination, and commitment as an advocate
and leader made MBCC what it is today, and we are all grateful.

Margo is very much missed by all of us, and in her name, we pledge to carry on the mission that
she so fervently worked toward and supported.

With sincere gratitude,

Cheryl Osimo
