Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) is hosting its 23rd Annual LGBTQ+ Dance: Party for Prevention virtually this year on Saturday, October 24, 2020, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will feature a guest appearance and award presentation to long-time environmental activist, comedian, and actress, Lily Tomlin. Come and enjoy music from DJ Shelly Cullen, laughs with guest comedian, Karen Williams, and dance lessons with OUT to Dance’s Liz Nania. Learn to dance the cha-cha, rhumba, salsa, or merengue with no partner needed! In addition to the virtual dance, an online auction will also be taking place for the event and will be open from October 17th running through October 24th at 8 p.m. All proceeds from this event will benefit breast cancer prevention.
Cheryl Osimo, Executive Director at MBCC, said “We are proud and grateful to all of the talented MBCC friends who will help us raise funds toward MBCC’s focus on cancer prevention on October 24th. Ultimately these individuals along with all MBCC dance supporters are helping us to make the world a better place for our children, grandchildren, and future generations. We feel honored to be presenting the MBCC Environmental Activist award to actress, comedian, and humanitarian Lily Tomlin. We are constantly inspired by trailblazers like Ms. Tomlin, who have fearlessly and relentlessly paved the way of putting the greater good of our planet and families first. Including her in MBCC’s history of individuals dedicated to making a positive impact in the world is thrilling news.” This award will be acknowledging Lily Tomlin’s passion and work on many environmental issues. Osimo continues to say, “Lily Tomlin will go down in history as one of the greatest activists, if not the greatest activist, of all time in helping us make the world a better place for all who live on this earth.”
