Cedar’s Mediterranean Foods will be joining MBCC for the 21st annual Against the Tide event in Hopknton, MA this year. The Director of Marketing, Aimee Tsakirellis, has been a monumental supporter for MBCC and has graciously agreed to hand out samples of Cedar’s delicious hommus and crackers at the ATT event. Aimee has become essential in the Non-GMO movement and has helped Cedar’s Hommus become the only hommus in the country to become Non-GMO Project Verified. Aimee continues to educate consumers of the direct link Mediterranean foods have to cancer prevention.
Aimee explains, “We are very committed to MBCC who, unlike other organizations, is focused on breast cancer prevention. Cedar’s Mediterranean uses no GMO’s in their products, which connects directly to breast cancer prevention because those organisms can cause cancer.”
Resident of Haverhill, MA, Aimee lives with her fiancé, Sokratis, and their doxiepoo puppy, Oresti. She is an active volunteer with various animal shelters for stray, abused, and neglected animals in Greece. Aimee feels a close connection to MBCC because her life has been touched by breast cancer. Her grandmother was diagnosed 9 years ago with breast cancer, and after a long, hard battle with the horrible disease, the cancer overcame her grandmother’s whole body in June 2012. This year, Aimee will volunteer in honor and memory of her grandmother, who passed away on May 30, 2013.
