North Eastham Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop owner Judy Tarr will be serving complimentary ice cream at Against the Tide on August 17th in Brewster, MA. She will also be receiving an award of appreciation for her many years of support of the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition’s work.
Judy Tarr’s life has been touched by breast cancer in numerous ways. “My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at a young age, and so I understand the devastation a family goes through when a loved one is diagnosed,” says Judy. Her mother has survived for 20 years after undergoing a mastectomy. Judy also has four friends who were diagnosed with breast cancer, two of which were within the past year. We are extremely proud and thankful to say that Judy has supported the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition and the Against the Tide event for the past 14 years, since the event’s inception.
The North Eastham Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop will support the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition at the ice cream shop’s 25th anniversary event all day on July 25th from 10:00am-11:00pm. 10% of the proceeds from this day’s sales will benefit MBCC’s work toward breast cancer prevention. At the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream social, discounted registration forms will be available for the Against the Tide swim, kayak, walk, or run fundraising event.
