The Margo Simon Golden Distinguished Service Award was established to honor Margo Simon Golden, her dedication to Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC), and her outstanding leadership as MBCC Board President for nearly 12 years. The Award is presented annually in late January, in memory of Margo’s passing on January 21, 2021, to individuals who best exemplify Margo’s passionate commitment to MBCC’s unique mission to prevent environmental causes of breast cancer.

Member Award Recipient – Rita Arditti
Join us in celebrating the spirit of Rita Arditti (1934-2009), who will be the honorary award recipient of the Margo Simon Golden Distinguished Service Award. A committed feminist, Rita was an activist, biologist, and college professor, known for her contributions to science, social justice, and human rights. She co-founded the Cambridge-based Women’s Community Cancer Project and lived with metastatic breast cancer for over 30 years. Rita’s longtime partner and MBCC Board of Directors Secretary, Estelle Disch, will be accepting the Award on Rita’s behalf.
