Giving Back for Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday Example

The Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) is a small but mighty non-profit organization with a big mission –preventing breast cancer. Giving Tuesday is a global day for giving back. This Giving Tuesday, we want to recognize how our many volunteers, staff, board members, and community members help support our mission of breast cancer prevention.

Throughout the organization, MBCC supporters and volunteers generously provide the energy and attention it takes to spread the word about environmental causes of breast cancer and other diseases.  Against the Tide Event Committee Chairs reinvigorate our events, bringing fresh ideas to engage MA citizens. Volunteers for the Let’s Talk Prevention: Reducing Toxic Exposures program help us educate communities across Massachusetts and share tips on reducing exposures linked to breast cancer.  Finally, we appreciate all of our community sponsors and partners who support the prevention of environmental causes of breast cancer.

We are forever grateful to every individual, company and institution that works with us to ensure that environmental causes of breast cancer are no longer found in our everyday lives.  Together, we can prevent breast cancer for future generations.

How does MBCC give back to Massachusetts communities?

  • Educating the public through the Let’s Talk Prevention: Reducing Toxic Exposures tour
  • Participating in community events including Power of One Voice, Festival of Giving Trees, Audre Lorde Cancer Awareness Brunch, City Awake Festival for Social Impact and Boston GreenFest
  • Policy work including working with MA legislators, giving testimony at hearings to ask for higher environmental standards, hosting an educational forum at the state house and advocating for more environmental health research in the state
