Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization whose mission is to prevent environmental causes of breast cancer through community education, research advocacy, and changes to public policy. In 1994 when it was found that Cape Cod has a breast cancer incidence rate 21% higher than the rest of the state, MBCC lobbied the legislature for funding to found Silent Spring Institute (SSI), a scientific research organization that works to identify and break the links between environmental chemicals and women’s health, especially breast cancer.

Our interns will assist with building and promoting special events and projects for the organization. This internship involves frequent communication with MBCC’s Event Coordinator.
The flexibility of this internship is substantial given its work from home nature. Phone and the internet will be the primary communication tools for assignments. Interns must commit to at least 15 hours per week.

We are currently looking for two separate translation interns to support the following languages: French Creole and Cape Verdean.
The Let’s Talk Prevention Translation Intern will assist in the translation of all Let’s Talk Prevention: Reducing Toxic Exposure program materials. The position will begin immediately and the length of stay is dependent upon the successful completion of translation materials. The amount of work flexibility is substantial with no travel required. Interns will be in frequent communication with MBCC Executive Director, Cheryl Osimo. This is an unpaid internship.

The MBCC Videographer Intern will assist in the creation of filmed interviews with Silent Spring Institute researchers, MBCC Board Members, and other individuals in the fields of environmental health and breast cancer prevention. The position would begin immediately and while the length of stay is flexible, interns must commit to at least 15 hours per week. The videographer must be willing and able to travel to and from interviews and filming locations. This is an unpaid internship. Travel is not compensated.
