You are invited to the screening of the documentary film, Pink Ribbons, Inc. on Monday, May 13th at 1:00PM at the Barnstable Senior Center on 825 Falmouth Road in Hyannis, MA!

The film Pink Ribbons, Inc. challenges the commercialization of the breast cancer movement, its place in U.S. culture, and its influence on ideas of good citizenship, responsible consumption, and generosity. Who really benefits from the pink ribbon campaigns — the cause or the company? And what if the very companies and products that profit from their association have actually contributed to the problem? This award-winning film exposes the story of the commercialization of the breast cancer movement and the exploitation of human generosity, hope, and trust. It has been called a “fire-breathing documentary,” “provocative and well-argued,” and “highly revelatory.”

Immediately following the film, there will be a Q&A session Cheryl Osimo, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition and Co-Founder of Silent Spring Institute, and Sue Phelan of GreenCAPE. The annual GreenCAPE meeting will follow the discussion.

Please RSVP before the event by calling 508-862-4750.
