Participant Logistics for Against the Tide in Hopkinton 6/17

As June 17th is fast approaching, we’d like to make our participants aware of the following logistics for the 25th Statewide Annual Against the Tide Swim, Kayak, Walk, Run and/or Aquathon event at DCR’s Hopkinton State Park:

Participant registration opens at 7:00 AM at the registration tent on the beachfront. Participants should plan to check-in/register one hour before the first event component they are participating in. Please bring a valid form of ID. We welcome all walk-in registrations, so if you have a friend who wants to join you, please bring them along. There will be free parking near the entrance to the event. You can find directions to DCR’s Hopkinton State Park by clicking here.

All swim, kayak, and aquathon participants must check in at the Water Safety Tent after registration. Swimmers and aquathoners will each receive one swim cap with their bib number. All swimmers, aquathoners, and kayakers will be checked in and out of the water by our Water Safety Team. The Worcester YMCA, American Red Cross, and Ashland Fire Department will provide additional safety support.

Kayak participants who paid the $20 non-refundable kayak safety deposit will find a kayak with their name on it on the beach. If you are bringing your personal kayak to the event, the drop-off location will be on the beach. Please clearly label your personal kayaks. Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) is not responsible for any lost or stolen personal kayaks. Please keep all personal property under observation on the day of the event.
