Two volunteersAs an advocate or volunteer for the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC), you will receive numerous opportunities to use your skills and talents to help us end this epidemic.  We will do our best to match your availability and interests with our efforts, and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.  For all of the activities listed below we can offer full support such as talking points, sample letters, fact sheets, brochures, etc.

Following is a sample of the types of activities that we offer:

Advocacy and Volunteer Opportunities

Advocacy

  • Write a ‘Letter to the Editor’ to your local newspaper
  • Write letters/sending emails/placing phone calls of support for various policy priorities to legislators and other policy makers

Special Events

  • Post fliers around your community for upcoming MBCC-sponsored events
  • Facebook, tweet and blog about our events to help spread the word
  • Assist with contacting colleges, health clubs and other groups to form an ATT participant teams
  • Assist at events with registration and other tasks
  • Assist with event database development

Communications

  • Website design
  • Facebook – Joining the MBCC page, sharing event information on your wall, and comments
  • Strategic communications and relationships with reporters/media outlets
  • Write articles to include in our E-Newsletters
  • Photography at events

Outreach and Education

  • Assist with organizing MBCC presentations in your community
  • Host a presentation in your home

Volunteer with beads

Fundraising

  • Host a fundraiser/house party to benefit MBCC
  • Send fundraising letters to your family and friends to benefit MBCC

Other Special Skills

  • You may have special skills in your area of expertise that may benefit our organization; please let us know if there are ways you can contribute to MBCC which haven’t been listed.

  1. Your contact information (full name, address, phone number, and preferred email address to reach you)
  2. Which opportunities you are interested in
  3. What your time/date availability is
  4. How many hours you can commit to
