This forum, now in the 17th season, will examine health care and its impact on critical illness.

Folk musician and breast cancer survivor Penny Nichols will perform. Penny’s latest CD and book, “The 8 Voyages of Nep,” chronicles her year of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and healing. Her performance is being cosponsored by the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition.

OPEN HOUSE is produced through a partnership between Representative Kaufman and LexMedia which records the forums for broadcast in Lexington, Arlington, and Woburn. This forum has addressed a wide range of issues and won the 1997 Beacon Award for “Nation’s Best Government Relations Series” and “Best Television Series” by Massachusetts Cable Television Commission.

20th Annual

The 20th Annual Against the Tide is a benefit for the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition. Join us on Saturday, June 23rd at DCR’s Hopkinton State Park and again on August 18th at DCR’s Nickerson State Park. The event consists of a 1-mile competitive or recreational swim, 2-mile kayak, 3-mile walk and/or 5K competitive or recreational run. Participants may choose to register for 1, 2 or 3 of the 6 components of the event. The Against the Tide begins at 7am and lasts until Noon. All participants over 18 must raise a minimum of $175 by the event day, all of which will go towards breast cancer prevention research.
