BPA: Brief Summary
BPA – You’ve heard about it, you may know that it’s a chemical used in baby bottles and other kinds of reusable beverage containers, cans, sales receipts and other products. But, do you know some of the research behind the concerns? Here’s a sampling of research representing a few of the primary concerns with BPA:
- Tufts University Medical School researchers summarize concerns with BPA’s impact on mammary gland development
- University of Cincinnati researchers report on BPA interference with chemotherapy effectiveness in breast cancer patients.
- Soon to be released research study again links BPA with early mammary cell development that may lead to breast cancer.
Check back in on Thursday for a discussion of BPA asking when we will stop accepting chemicals linked with harm to health to be used in consumer products before safety assessed.
