For over 25 years, MBCC has taken action towards prevention. We greatly appreciate the on-going support we receive from our members and hope that we continue to provide you with the actions and resources you need to help in our collective effort to prevent breast cancer before it starts. A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO 2017 FUNDRAISERS BENEFITING MBCC…
The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod recently held a ‘dress down’ day for their employees. A voluntary donation from the employee is given for the option to wear jeans in the workplace on May 19th and 20th. Employees contributed $500 to MBCC. Thank you to all.
On May 19th Cape Cod Theatre Company hosted a special performance of Wrinkles the Musical to benefit MBCC. We are grateful and honored that writers, Naomi Turner and Wilderness Sarchild, along with the director, Nina Schuessler chose MBCC to be the recipient of this benefit. This outstanding performance raised $1,120 for MBCC’s mission of preventing environmental causes of breast cancer through community education, research advocacy, and changes to public policy. Thank you we are proud to have partnered with you!
Kim Pilavin, our favorite Pure Haven Essentials Consultant, hosted a Mother’s Day Appeal fundraiser in May. Thank you for supporting MBCC and raising $400 from products purchased at the event. Kim continues to support MBCC on the beach in both Hopkinton and Brewster at Against the Tide, come and see what Pure Haven is all about.
Our sincere thanks once again to our friends at The Thoreau Club in Concord, MA. On April 3, 2017, The Thoreau Club hosted their 17th Annual Pro-Am event raising $1,785. This brings The Thoreau Club’s 17th year of support to a total of over $44,5285! We would like to thank Thoreau Pros – Rick Sharton (Tennis Director), Jeff Hagman, Aaron Brown, Tim Whitehead, Evan Sideman, Ryan Adamonis, Bob Kantner, Salim Chraibi, Tommy Wu, and Frank McCammon for their donation of time & courts. We would also like to thank the players – Amy Reinert, Renee Nadler, Dore Zornada, Jennifer Pascucci, Pam Durniak, Beth Morgan, Michele Vroman, Kathryn Austin, Nicole O’Malley, Tricia Pastel, Maria Berhrakis, Lori Arthur, Laura Knightly, Danna Katz Steinberg, Tommy and Denna Saidnawey.
Judy Lochner of The Soap Pedlar has continued her partnership with MBCC’s advocacy, education and outreach efforts to prevent breast cancer. Judy has been designating a percentage of her soap sales to MBCC. In 2017, Judy has raised already raised close to $275.00 for MBCC. Stay tuned as Judy attends craft fairs and raises more for breast cancer prevention.
